They're Keeping Us Busy

Folks, they are keeping us really, really busy. There's little time to write, but I don't want to miss sharing a little of what we did today. In summary, we visited the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, we visited Masada, we "swam" in the Dead Sea, and we rode camels. A few pictures:

This is Herod's Fortress Masada, taken over by the Zealots and attacked by the Romans in 73 AD/CE.

Here's how you get to the top.

And here's what it looks like looking down from the top.

Here we are at Qumran, probably the site of the Essene village that may have hidden the Dead Sea Scrolls.

I though it we went to the Holy Land it would make the Stories from the Bible all come alive. However, it also makes the evening news come alive.

The road to the Dead Sea.

I guess they tag in Arabic, too.

Ride 'em camelboy!

The Al Aqsa Mosque at night.

Tomorrow -- the Dome of the Rock and the Temple Mount.
